The name Shelter Rock is the name given to a massive boulder which was dislodged from the Magaliesberg cliff face about 10 000 years ago. It can be seen from many kilometres away when walking the Shelter Rock Hiking Trail.

The views from the summit of the Magaliesberg is spectacular and you can relax and meditate at the spire garden on top of the mountain or anywhere in a secluded spot along the hiking trail.

It is a small owner run establishment and can easily adapt activities and events to the requirements of customers.s and cattle trails through a kloof created by an elephant footpath. Past the ruins of an Iron Age Village and a cairn of stones where local peoples used to place a rock to ensure a safe journey.
Shelter Rock Hiking Trailis not only for hikers! They cater for school groups, scout groups etc. up to 150 people. Abseiling is available on the farm as well. Pet Friendly Day Hike. There is an option of sleeping over at the campsite, bring your own tent. Great ablution facilities. No electricity. The campsite can accommodate 20.
